Piping

For a Thermomax system installation with pipework of total length 100 - 150 feet, the following dimensions are recommended for the flow and return piping:

Flow Rates

The flow rates through the set of manifolds should be (0.1 to 0.25 litres/minute per tube) in the range of 1 gpm per 20-tube manifold. Increased flow rates will only increase the system pressure drop. There will not be any improvement in the system performance.

Pressure Drop

It is often necessary to find the pressure drop in a system to size the pump required to circulate heat transfer fluid. The pressure drop across a 30 tube manifold is given:

inches H2 O = - 0.346 + 2.758 gpm + 5.856 gpm**2

Collector Dimensions

We offer 20 or 30 tube manifolds. The standard package is for shingle roof installation and consists of two side rails, top and bottom support assembly. Additional brackets are offered as follow:

MS System: Standard Shingles roof fixing hardware
KS System: Fixing hardware for Mexican Tiles
CU System: Fixing hardware for Metal roof
FS System: Ground or Flat roof brackets
EL System: Elevation kit for wall mounting
